EduNova Online

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

EduNova Shiksha Online ("EduNova", "we") runs a 1-on-1 online coaching platform for students in classes 6–12. This page explains what information we collect from students, teachers, and admins who use the platform, and how we use it. EduNova is currently a small pilot serving a handful of students and teachers, provisioned directly by the admin rather than open to public sign-up.

Information we collect

When an admin adds a teacher or student account, we store that person's full name, email address, role, and (for students) class level. Once someone signs in and sets their own password, we store a securely hashed version of that password — never the password itself in readable form. When a class is scheduled, we store the topic, date, time, duration, and its Google Meet link. We use a signed session cookie in your browser to keep you signed in; it contains no readable personal data, only a signed reference to your account.

How we use it

We use this information only to run the platform: showing the right dashboard and classes to the right person, letting students request classes and teachers approve them, and creating the Google Calendar event and Meet link for a confirmed class. When a class is confirmed, we create that calendar event through the Google Calendar API and send invites to the teacher, the student, and EduNova's admin account so everyone has the link. We don't use this information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum needed with two service providers that run the platform on our behalf: Supabase (our database host, which stores account and class-scheduling data) and Google (whose Calendar API creates the Meet link and sends the invites described above). Neither uses this data for their own purposes. We don't share it with any other third party.

Our use of Google APIs

EduNova connects to the Google Calendar API through a single Google account controlled by EduNova's admin — students and teachers never sign in with, or connect, their own Google account. That connection is used only to create a Google Calendar event and Google Meet video link when a class is confirmed, and to send that event's invite to the teacher, the student, and the admin. We don't read, store, or share any other data from that Google account (no emails, no other calendar events, no contacts), and we don't use Google user data for advertising of any kind.

EduNova's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google's own handling of any data it processes on our behalf is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Homework files and chat

A student and their teacher can message each other and attach a photo or PDF (homework or a worksheet). These files are stored securely and are only ever visible to that student, that teacher, and EduNova's admin — never to anyone else, and never used for any purpose beyond running that class. Chat messages and their attached files are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account and class data for as long as the account stays active on the platform. If an admin removes a teacher or student account, their profile and associated class records are deleted from our database. To request that your data be reviewed or deleted, contact us using the email below.

Children's data

Many of our students are minors. Accounts are created directly by a school/coaching admin (not by the student signing up themselves), and we collect only the information described above — never more than needed to run scheduling and classes.
